How to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle While Working Online

How to Stay Focused While Working Online

Working online and staying focused and healthy is not always as easy as it looks so we thought it’s time for a guide to address this problem for everyone around the world that spend most of their time sitting on a chair while staring at a screen. For that reason, we made a quick checklist for you to follow.

Give your eyes a break

It’s not healthy to stare for hours at a screen, especially if there’s not enough light on the screen it will start to hurt you in the long-term, you can notice this right away when you go outside and there’s a little bit of sunshine, you immediately squeeze your eyes together as it’s simply to much light while others have no problem with it at all. Once that happens you know it’s time to insert more regular breaks. One hour followed by a five-minute break would be perfect to keep your eyes sharp.

Eat more of the green stuff

Fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins that will do you good, and especially for your eyes, you want to take plenty of Vitamin A, E, C, B6, B9,  B12, and D, I didn’t make that up myself I just sneak peaked it at pixelb.in. Omega-3 fats will also do you good so salty fish is what you need for that. The most important one for eye health is Vitamin A, which you will find in beef and lamb liver, or if you’re more of a fan of fish than Mackerel and Salmon will do the job as well. It’s just that fish contains an awful lot less vitamins so if you’re not a fan of liver you got to eat more fish or add up on supplements.

How about a schedule

Most people just start working without any schedule at all, and more often than not that turns out to be pretty darn ineffective as you will easily get distracted, thinking what to do next, and before you know it you spend half an hour on Facebook or Twitter or doing other things then you’re supposed to do. A schedule will save you so much time at the end of the day that you can spend with your family and friends.

Remove all distractions

If you’re living on your own, without a family, there’s not that much that can distract you, besides perhaps some notifications from your phone from friends on social media but you can easily turn that off, if you don’t, start doing that right now as it’s the main distractor.

For people with families, especially when there are kids involved I suggest you get a room for yourself, perhaps renovate your garage, the attic, or your basement if it’s deep enough. Also, make sure to hang a sign on the door that you don’t want to be disturbed and talk about this with your family on a regular base as people do need to be reminded.

Simply tell them it’s in their benefit as well as when you’re undistracted you can do more work, make more money, and have more time to take your wife out for dinner, your kids to theme parks, and more frequent weekend trips and holidays. Once they hear that they’ll understand and leave you alone.
